In den 60er Jahren vollziehen deutsche Wohnzimmer ihre entscheidendste Wandlung; der Fernseher wird zum Mittelpunkt. Nach ihm richten sich alle anderen Möbel aus. Laut Statistik wird das Wohnzimmer von Deutschen Bürgern alle fünfzehn Jahre neu eingerichtet. Und die meiste Zeit wird wohl im Wohnzimmer verbracht.

Die Fotografien sind Teil einer Serie, die während eines Filmdrehs unter Wasser entstanden. Gezeigt wird ein Raum, der temporär – für eine Woche – gebaut wurde. Am ersten Blick wirken die Bilder fast irritierend, da man nicht weiß, wo man sich befindet.

In the 1960s the German living room completes its most decisive transformation: the television becomes its focal-point. All of the other furniture is organised around it. According to statistics, the German citizen refurnishes her/his living room every fifteen years. And presumably they spend most of their leisure time in the living room.

The photos are part of a series taken during an underwater film-shoot. They show a space that was built for temporary use – for a week. At first glance the images are an irritation as disorientating.
