Ein Umbau ist die Veränderung eines Objektes in Form, Gestalt oder Ausführung mit erheblichem Eingriff und Arbeitsumfang. Ziel ist es das Objekt zu verbessern, zu erweitern oder umzunutzen. Zum Teil werden komplette Gestalt-, Wesens- und Zweckveränderungen vorgenommen.

Installation, Zeitdokument, Reportage. Der Baudynamik wird auch in diesem Fall Rechnung getragen.

A conversion is the alteration of an object in shape, design or realisation with a significant intervention and extensive work. The purpose is to improve, expand or adapt the object. In some cases this involves entire redesigning and/or radical alterations in character and of use.

Installation, documentation, reportage. In this case allowance is also made of the structural dynamics.
