das Projekt
Das Fotoprojekt hier leben wir widmet sich den noch verbliebenen Berufssparten im Ort Glödnitz. In einer Serie von 30 Bildern wurden im Sommer 2011 Räume fotografiert, in denen (noch) gearbeitet wird.
Der inszenierte Nebel fungiert als das Unsichtbare oder das Wage, das die Zukunft für die ländlichen Regionen mit sich bringt, aber auch als das Unausgesprochene, das familiäre und dorfspezifische Tabus meist mit sich bringen.
der Ort
Glödnitz ist eine Gemeinde im Gurktal/Kärnten, die wie viele Dörfer mit Landflucht zu kämpfen hat. Es gibt kaum Ausbildungs- oder Arbeitsmöglichkeiten für Jugendliche, kleine Geschäfte sperren zu, Infrastruktur wie Postamt, Polizeistation, Schule werden eingespart. Gasthäuser und Räume, wo informeller Austausch stattfand, verschwinden.
Das Spezielle an Glödnitz ist aber, dass sich einige Bewohner/innen des Phänomens bewusst wurden und begonnen haben, Initiativen zu starten. Es wurde ein Naturbad unter ökologischen Gesichtspunkten gebaut, eine Biomasse-Heizanlage errichtet. In der Gemeinde hat sich ein Verlag angesiedelt (Memoirenverlag Bauschke).
the project
This photo project where we live is dedicated to the remaining professions in the village Glödnitz/Austria. In a series of 30 images areas and spaces were photographed in which people are (still) working. The artificial fog acts as the ‚invisible‘ or ‚vague‘ that the future might bring for the rural regions, but also for the unspoken and for family and village-specific taboos.
the place
Glödnitz is a community in Gurktal/Carinthia (A) that is like many other villages in Europe struggling with rural exodus. There are few training or work opportunities for young people. Small shops, the post-office, the police station etc. have been closed down lately. Inns and spaces, where information exchange took place, disappear.
Some inhabitants of Glödnitz became aware of that development. By consequence a culture club (Drehscheibe Glödnitz) was founded, a natural swimming pool and a biogas plant was built, a publisher specialized in memoirs has settled in the village (Memoirenverlag Bauschke).
